In my opinion

I watched the 1995 TV movie, The Tuskegee Airman on the MAX app yesterday. I’ve only seen the movie twice, before yesterday. I’ve never forgotten it though. It was the first movie that I saw actor, Andre Braugher (and Courtney Vance). Andre played a high-ranking & respected officer who was in charge of his unit in Italy.

I remember admiring the strength Andre (and Courtney) showed in his role. He felt like a man you didn’t want to mess with.

The Tuskegee Airman is a great movie about African-American fighter pilots who would join World War II, after dealing with opposition from those who didn’t believe they were capable of becoming pilots.

Around the same time, I would see Andre Bragher in another great war movie, Glory (with other great actors like Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington). His character, Thomas is different from the proud commander he played in Tuskegee Airman.

It was heartbreaking to see how Thomas was treated at times by Denzel’s character. It was like reliving my middle-school experience (around the time I saw the movie).

His character would become a lion as the movie progresses.
