The lightweight fighter, Darius Kincave stared at the grey wall in front of him in an empty room. He could hear the fanatic crowd waiting for his battle against a surprise opponent in the ring. Darius could feel his anxiety- energy mixed with doubt dominating his body; even though he had trained relentlessly for this fight.

‘‘Darius! It’s almost game time!’’ Yelled his elderly trainer, Jones Jamerson. Jones walked through the entrance door with his blue jogging pants and jacket covering his inside light blue shirt.

‘‘This is it! You’ve waited a year to show the world that you’re the champ and we’re a champ! You got this! You just have to get in that ring and take out your opponent.’’

‘‘Yeah. That’s it’’ Said a concerned Darius.

‘‘What’s the matter?’’ Asked Jones.

‘‘I…feel nervous…that’s all.’’

‘‘That’s normal! That means you’re alive! That means you have a soul! That means you have a PULSE inside that warrior heart of yours! Think of all your boxing heroes.

Ali, Johnson, Dempsy, Foreman, Tyson, they were all nervous at times before battling in the ring, but they had heart and the will to destroy whatever was in their way!’’
