Google Maps Is A Trip Saver
A shoutout to a great app
Ever since I would ride city buses in San Antonio during most of the 2010s, Google Maps has been my guide to places all over the city & other cities/states. I don’t even remember how I came across the app on the phone, but (like many other people I’m sure), I’m so grateful that I did.
Before I used it, I would ride buses (like bus #550) that I wasn’t supposed to ride, leading me further away from my destinations. It’s fun when you’re in the mood to explore parts of your city you haven’t seen, but not so fun — if you’re trying to get to a certain area or back home.
Thankfully, Google Maps can lead you to the promised land most of the time when you’re traveling to a new area you’re not familiar with. The worry of the unknown is still there for me, if it’s a new area I’ve never been to before, but having Google Maps on my android phone, makes my road trips more relaxing to enjoy while I’m driving on the highways.
Now Google Maps hasn’t always got it right for me. It’s missed some turns for me that I was supposed to take. I’ll be driving and have a turn that I’m supposed to be prepared for. But Lady Google isn’t on her game. She won’t let me know until I’m at the road I’m supposed to turn on. Then she’ll say ‘’Turn right’’.
