I’m Content With Being Nearsighted

It took a little while to get this way

It took me forever to understand the difference between being nearsighted and being farsighted. It wasn’t until I read the definition clearly of both words that I finally understood the eye vision I’ve had since I was 11 years old.

According to Medline Plus:

A nearsighted person sees near objects clearly, while objects in the distance are blurred.

Farsightedness is the result of the visual image being focused behind the retina rather than directly on it. It may be caused by the eyeball being too small or the focusing power being too weak.

I noticed my eye vision had changed when I was in the 6th grade. It was really noticeable when I was in math class. I would sit way in the back and listen to the math teacher explain math to us (which felt like learning a different language).

I could still see things that were close to me. But seeing things far because a struggle for me to do. When the teacher would do complicated math problems on the board, I couldn’t see the numbers and letters well to take notes on how to solve those programs later on.
