Little Children Of Uvalde

Little ones

No one expected your short lives to end by the gun

You were daughters and sons

Trying to play and learn

Only for a gunman to put steel into your innocent souls

Two teachers joined you that dreadful day

This shouldn't be the way

I feel Golden State’s coach Steve Kerr’s anger and frustration

The grieving has gotten old

This story has already been told

A million times…when will a new story emerge?

Is this our future?

Will more innocent children & adults die?

I wish the answer was no

If only this was so

But in an unstable nation, it’s hard to believe that’ll ever be

Maybe one day, I’ll be a reality
