Martin Lawrence Should Of Had A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame Years Ago
Congratulations to a king of comedy
Yesterday, I watched comedian/actor Martin Lawrence's Walk of Fame ceremony on Youtube.
It was touching to watch Lynn Whitfield, Tracy Morgan, and Steve Harvey speak about him for a bit. Like Steve mention when he was speaking, I thought Martin Lawrence had a star in Hollywood a long time ago.
Like many in my generation (millennials), I grew up watching Martin Lawrence in the 90s and 2000s. The few times I saw his show, ‘’Martin’’ on TV in the 90s, I couldn’t take my eyes off of it. There was a magic to that show that even I saw & felt as a kid.
That magic stayed with me — until I got to watch all the seasons of it during my high school years and beyond.
I saw a lot of his movies that I enjoyed over the years. ‘’Life’’ is one of my all-time favorites. It’s such a sad movie with a lot of comedy in it.
‘’Black Knight’’ is a classic to me. I love that movie to death. Martin’s comedy mixed with medieval times, you can’t beat that. Then there are the Bad Boy movies he did with Will Smith. He and Will Smith together are so funny together.
Blue Streak is another good one he did with Dave Chappelle.
He’s entertained and made people smile for so long, this honor is long overdue for Martin with the impact he’s had on other comedians and fans. Congrats!
