Fresh from the oven
The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris have gone by so quickly since they started on July 26. For North America, tomorrow is the last day of the games, while in other parts of the world, today is the day the games end.
With this year’s Olympics, I’ve done something I’ve never done before — which is checking out how every country (That’s in the Olympics) is doing.
I’ve enjoyed keeping up with the medal count of every country in the Olympics. Plus, it’s more fun — when you know there are writers here on Medium who live in those countries.
China the gold leader
According to the Medals cart online, China leads everyone in the gold medal category with 38 gold medals.
I see you, China.
The United States is behind them with 37 gold medals. Next up in line are Australia and Japan, which have 18 medals. Behind them are France and Great Britain who have 15 and 14 medals.
Then South Korea and the Netherlands have 13 medals. And behind those two are Germany and Italy, which have 12 and 11 gold medals.
The Silver States
The United States leads everyone in the silver medal category with 42 (42!) silver medals. China is in second…
