Mr. West Is Slowly Winning Me Over Again
So, for the last two days, I’ve been listening non-stop to a song Kanye West did with Andre 3000 on YouTube called ‘’Life Of The Party’’. When I found the two did a song together through Twitter, it immediately had me curious and made me want to hear it as soon as I could find an audio clip of it.
Having two of my hip-hop heroes collaborate together, the least I could do was see what it was all about.
Seeing Kanye jammed out in Germany to some of Andre’s rapping made me even more excited to hear the song. The news was breaking out about the combo and others wanted to hear how this track would sound as well.
The day I was finally able to find a video on YouTube, I was so happy. Now, I was hoping the song itself would help maintain that happiness I had for it. I’m so glad to say that it did and more. 3000’s verse is so poetic and moving that I couldn’t stop listening to it for a while until I was able to get to Kanye’s verse.
As a person who lost a mom decades ago, I could relate to almost everything he was saying, you do feel lost after what felt like a given with having your mom around, and then she’s gone forever. The ending to Andre’s verse is just…I can’t even put it into words, it’s one of the reasons why I wish we had a lot more music from my favorite rapper ever.
