Oh Adelia

When I heard the news about thee

I quickly felt the blues come over me

This day felt like it was gonna be a good one.

Until I heard you were no longer with us, I want to run.

Tears want to come out of my left eye

I refuse to cry.

You were one of the few people I always look forward to seeing every day at the workplace.

I thought I would see you again in your HR office, now I have to embrace.

The thought of not being able to see you say hi anymore has me feeling blue.

I wish I told you how much I appreciated you.

For answering my questions with warmth, grace, and care

That kind of empathy is rare

People like you make life so great.

Hopefully, I’ll get to see you again, until then, I’ll have to wait.

RIP Adelia.
