Rise & Shine On Christmas Morning

Another Christmas morning has come,

but the experience feels new

My entire body becomes conscious

I don’t know what to do

Well, I have an idea of what to do

But the timing must be right

If the time on the alarm clock isn’t too early

heading to the living room, I just might

I ease myself out of bed

and tiptoe across the floor

The Christmas lights shine really bright in the hallway

I’m excited to see what’s outside the door

But I wait for a few minutes,

just to make sure Santa isn’t still here

After ten minutes of silence,

I believe the coast is clear

The tiptoeing continues

towards the Christmas tree, I go

My eyes light up with joy and excitement

at the toys, stockings, and presents below

It wouldn’t be long,
