Social media has been with us for decades now. From Myspace, Facebook, Black Planet, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and a lot more sites that’s come from this phenomenon. We can even go back to American Online in the 90s. We humans can connect with each other in ways we couldn’t before the internet and social media came along.

There are negatives about Social Media that several writers here have already touched on.

For one, It can become a comparison trap if we’re not careful. You can see people who look like they have it all together, partying every day, and living the best life. It can make you feel like your life is subpar compared to theirs if we allow our minds to go into that abyss.

You have the Scammers, the Bitcoin spokesperson, the Illuminati disciple, the Ghosters, the Flakers…pretty much anyone that can make it a bad experience for us on social media is on there.

This can make people jaded and fed up with social media. I can’t blame you for wanting to op-out of it for good.

On the flip side, social media can be a positive tool — if you come across the right people.

I can testify to this because for almost a decade, I’ve met people on social media who would enrich my life in ways I never saw coming.
