Janice Burgess, the creator of The Backyardigans, died a few days ago.

Until the news came out about her passing, I never knew who was the person behind that cute show my oldest niece and I used to enjoy watching together during her toddler years.

I was living in Maryland with my oldest sister when I discovered The Backyardigans on the Sprout TV channel. My niece and I were already enjoying another kids’ show called The Wonder Pets.

It took me a while to get into that show. But, the more I watched it, the more I enjoyed watching The Wonder Pets going on their adventures and interacting with other animals. Their theme song is so catchy too!
