The Lord’s Supper That Didn’t Go As Planned

I was in my early 20s when this church experience took place. I was living with my oldest sister in Millersville, Maryland with her oldest daughter (my Aquarian niece) .

My other sister had moved around that area — for the time being. So, we got to spend some time together, before I was sent back to San Antonio, Texas to reunite with my dad & my younger brother.

The memory of us going to a really-big baptist church together one Sunday in Downtown Baltimore — is one that shows how unpredictable life can be sometimes. The Downtown area feels so rich with history & life, but, at the same time, it looks run down in certain parts. It’s a strange combination that part of the city has.

The church was in the ‘’rich with history & life’’ camp. It looked as if it had been around for a long time with its dark-red colors on the outside. Inside the church in the sanctuary, looked even more historic, but very dark — with dim lights.

My oldest sister and I had been to the church a few times. This was the first time my other sister had gone there that Sunday. All of us are looking nice in our dresses & suit. It felt like a typical day in the Lord’s house.

I don’t even remember what the Pastor had preached — since it had been over a decade…
