According to the CDC reports, 19.4% of the U.S population have been vaccinated while only a third have received one dose.

There is a sense of urgency from Health professionals and various leaders to get vaccinated immediately which is understandable. There have been 555,231 people who’ve died from Covid-19 in the U.S alone! Worldwide, we’ve lost 2.89 million people from the virus. This is really tragic.

Probably every single person who lost their lives to this disease didn’t imagine that show they would end up leaving this earth. So in that sense, getting vaccinated would be a must for anyone to give them a strong chance from succumbing to Covid.

There’s another side of people who are hesitant of getting vaccinated due to the fear of hearing information about getting nanobots in your system or having the vaccine kill you. I am one of those people who’s conflicted on whether I should or should not get the vaccine.

I have a ‘’wait and see’’ mentality. Apparently, I'm not the only one who has this mindset.

According to a Kaiser Family Foundation Vaccine Monitor Survey, about a quarter of black adults said they’re gonna wait and see before getting vaccinated, 18% felt the same in the Latino Community, and 16% among white adults.

There are efforts being made to calm these fears and to encourage everyone to get vaccinated. I know a lot of people close to me have been vaccinated or are working towards getting the full dose. The questions have I gotten the shots are coming up more towards me and honestly, I’m starting to feel the heat.

I had one co-worker, an elderly lady asked me if I’ve gotten a vaccine shot? I told her not yet. She asked me when would I get it? It almost sounded like she was demanding me to be vaccinated. I replied soon to her. She was the first person to ask me about it.

Yesterday, a lot of people at my job got vaccinated and I’m glad for them. Someone else had asked if I had got the shot? Once again, I said not yet to ease off the disappointment. They replied ‘’you’re part of the problem’’ in a soft way. They continued ‘’I wanna take these masks off’’. I wanna take these masks off too, but the conflict of whether I should get the vaccine or not is too strong for me right now.

This is the curse of being an overthinker. You psyche yourself out of doing a lot of things. Hopefully, this curse will end for this issue. Until then, I’ll be a cheerleader rooting for others to feel well from Covid-19.
