The Pressure Of Not Being In Our Feelings

In recent times, I can’t help but feel like there’s been a strong push to downplay feelings in human beings. You may see it on a random YouTube video by a YouTuber that you watched. They will say the following words at some point that will go ‘’(random person)is in their feelings’’, as if being in your feelings is a crime against humanity.

The YouTuber or people, in general, may have very little regard for the target they’re aiming at to be in their feelings, or feeling like they were attacked by venomous words, but if someone wrongs them in a verbal way, or otherwise? You can best believe, they’ll never leave the feelings that they’ll feel inside their chest.

The hypocrisy is very strong when it comes to human beings deciding who should or shouldn't have or be in their feelings. When did it become okay to downplay hurt feelings? Maybe, it was always this way, and this is just a recent discovery for me.

I see this type of behavior on Youtube and even on here on Medium on heated articles and it saddens me, to be honest. It’s like certain people lost the ability to understand another person’s pain or they never had it to begin with. So if you feel discouraged about your own feelings that you may be wrestling with…don’t feel bad about them.
