There Should Be An Oldest Article Option On Medium
Just saying
This piece has been one that I’ve been wrestling with for a while.
While I was putting other ideas to fruition, this one had me play the ‘’Should I…shouldn’t I?’’ game in my head for over a month. Then finally last week, I thought fire away. After all, just like everyone else here, I’m a Medium citizen who pays rent and taxes to the Medium government.
Why not.
I believe there should be an oldest article option on Medium. It could help many writers who have done a lot of pieces (and readers) find their early work quicker.
Like, the options a platform like YouTube has on it (for those that use YouTube). When going to a YouTube creator’s page, there’s a latest, popular, and oldest section above their videos.
Medium should have an oldest option in that bar, where publish, draft, unlisted, and responses are — to make it easier for writers (who have a lot of pieces) to go to their earliest work faster.
Or to take it even further, Medium could have years in that section that could help writers find their work even faster. Like, have all of a writer’s work in 2024, 2023, and so forth, until it gets to the first year a writer started on Medium.
