There’s Hearing Advice And Then There’s Getting The Advice
Depending on who you listen to
It’s remarkable how sometimes we can hear words that someone says to us, but for whatever reason, it doesn’t resonate with us. It could be someone giving advice or just trying to teach us a life lesson. We may hear what they’re saying, but we don’t get what they’re saying.
Their words just don’t activate that ‘’ah ha’’ part in our brains.
This can happen throughout life, depending on how long you’ve been living.
Like having a teacher teach you Geometry in high school. We may hear their words in class, but not have any idea what they’re talking about. What they teach us might as well be in a different language.
And in a way, it is with stuff, like the Pythagorean Theorem that contains letters mixed with numbers that we have to solve. Confusing stuff!
If we were one of those students lost, maybe we asked the teacher to explain again what they were talking about. But their explanation still doesn’t make sense to you. So we act like we got what they’re talking about even though we really didn’t.
That’s a tough position to be in.
