Treat Others How You Want To Be Treated

This well-known quote is one most of us have heard at some point in our lives. Mostly, when we were kids learning in primary school or from our families. It’s a great rule to live by. If we treat others how we want to be treated, we’ll be treated like royalty (assuming we all want to be treated in a positive way).

That’s how it should be. You treat your fellow man/woman right and they’ll do the same in return. If only that was our reality 100% of the time. As many of us discover in harsh lessons in life, not everyone follows this rule, and if they do, they only follow it when it’s convenient for them. When individuals like this feel that treating people no longer suits them, they drop the act & proceed to treat people like pets they don’t like.

It seems the name of the game is to treat others the way we think they should be treated. If we think someone should be treated with respect, we’ll treat them that way. If we believe they should be treated the opposite of that, we won’t hesitate to show our disdain for that person. It depends on the psyche of the individual.

We see this all the time when we’re walking past strangers in stores or outdoors. Or dealing with a prickly cash register who decided took their frustrations on you (for whatever reason it is). Even…
