Vasili Arkhipov: The Calm Officer Who Saved The World
Sometimes, when I’m on YouTube, I’ll stumble on a video title that catches my eye, the video will briefly go through the history of a person that existed in the past. The information that’s mentioned in the video will have me amazed, inspired & wanting to learn more about the historical figure.
I found George Westinghouse that way. When I watched a video on him, I was so moved by his character, generosity & how well he treated the workers that worked for him, that it made me put him on my list of favorite historical figures ever.
A day later after I found out about Westinghouse, I discovered another man (who was Russian )named Vasili Arkhipov. As cool of a name Vasili Arkhipov is, it was the words behind his name — that made me curious to watch this YouTube video on him. Those words were ‘’the man who saved the world’’.
That’s a big claim to have behind your name. So, I was intrigued to find out more about him. After finishing the video on the man, I see why those words were put in that title. This brave man saved humanity from annihilation!
